1. Introduction

Spend Voice (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a personal expense tracking application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: email address and display name (when you create an account)
  • Expense data: descriptions, amounts, categories, dates, and currency
  • Voice input: text transcripts of your voice entries (not raw audio)
  • Budget settings: daily limits, monthly budgets, and spending preferences

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Subscription status and purchase receipts (processed by RevenueCat)
  • Device identifiers for subscription management

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect location data
  • We do not collect contacts or address book data
  • We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs
  • We do not collect advertising identifiers

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the expense tracking service
  • To sync your data across devices (when you create an account)
  • To process voice input into expense entries
  • To generate spending insights and analysis
  • To manage your subscription

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

4.1 Supabase (Cloud Storage & Authentication)

When you create an account, your expense data and settings are stored on Supabase servers to enable cloud sync. Guest users' data remains on-device only.

4.2 Google Gemini API

Receipt scanning, smart titles, and AI spending analysis are optional features powered by Google's Gemini API. Before the app sends any data to Gemini, it displays an in-app disclosure explaining what will be sent and asks for your permission. You can decline, and you can disable these features at any time in Settings. Data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS, and per Google's Gemini API terms the content you submit is not used to train Google's models.

  • Receipt Scanner:When you scan a receipt, the image is sent to Google's Gemini API for text extraction. The image is not stored by our app after processing.
  • Smart Titles: Voice transcript text may be sent to Gemini to generate concise expense titles.
  • AI Analysis: Only aggregated spending statistics (totals, category breakdowns) are sent for analysis. No individual expense details or personal identifiers are included.

4.3 Apple Speech Recognition (iOS) / Google Speech Recognition (Android)

Voice input is processed by your device's built-in speech recognition service. Audio data is handled by Apple or Google according to their respective privacy policies. Our app only receives the resulting text transcript.

4.4 RevenueCat

Manages subscription purchases and receipt validation. RevenueCat receives your anonymous user ID and purchase receipts. No expense data is shared with RevenueCat.

4.5 Apple Sign In / Google Sign In

If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we receive only your name and email address through a secure token exchange. We do not receive or store your Apple or Google account password.

5. Third-Party Data Protection

We only share data with third parties that provide protection equivalent to our own. Google (Gemini API), Supabase, RevenueCat, and Apple/Google Sign-In are bound by their respective privacy policies and data processing terms, which offer protection equal to or greater than what this policy describes. We do not sell personal information to any third party.

6. Data Storage and Security

  • Guest users: All data is stored locally on your device only.
  • Registered users: Data is stored both locally on your device and on secure Supabase cloud servers.
  • Widget data: The home screen widget accesses spending summaries stored in a secure on-device app container. No network requests are made by the widget.
  • We use industry-standard encryption for data transmission (HTTPS/TLS).

7. Data Retention and Deletion

  • You can delete individual expenses at any time within the app.
  • You can delete your account and all associated cloud data from the Settings screen.
  • Local data can be removed by uninstalling the app.
  • Guest data exists only on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

8. Children's Privacy

Spend Voice is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Delete your account and data
  • Export your expense data
  • Opt out of cloud sync by using the app as a guest

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this policy.
